Cheesecake @ 磨菇麵包店 Mushroom Bakery

Maybe another good bakery in Sai Kung? Anyway I am not that sure on that, I never bought from there before because the shop was small, also their bakery looked a bit burnt, and not much air conditioning in there.

I was surprised the cheesecake was from there, maybe their cakes fare better.

The cheesecake was light, and as you can see from the picture, the ratio of cake and cheese is 60:40.

Silky Potato croquettes @ Shake'em Buns

Was a bit peckish, so got the potato croquettes, uniformly shaped, and golden brown in colour.

The potato inside it was quite soft, and there was onion gravy that came with it.
(forgot to take pic).

I thought the onion gravy was a bit sweet, so i put ketchup on it.

Inmitation sharks fin soup @ 日年華美食 The Excellence

On the windows of this shop, there are newspaper and magazine cuttings, yet it was not listed on OpenRice.

Anyway lets see if this place gets more reviews.

The food is ok, its siu mai's are the best.
The fake sharksfin soup is also ok, with lots of black fungus, chicken, glass noodles etc.

The food is also quite cheap, but the canned drinks are from china.

Crabcakes and cowboys @ Anthony's Ranch

*No Photos as I do not promote SAI KUNG*

Quite an interesting restaurant on the corner, the waitors are dressed in cowboy clothing with cowboy boots,
The peanuts in the tin holder were warm too!!!!

Anyway wasnt hungry, just wanted to try something, so got the crabcakes, white crabmeat inside the golden breadcrumbs.
I didnt like the sauce much though, just sweet chili sauce, I would have preferred a wedge of lemon.

English chinese food @ 和記餐廳 Wo Kee Restaurant

*No Photos because I do not want to promote SAI KUNG*

Came here only because my cousin suggested this place, he dosnt usually eat chinese, but when I tried the dishes I knew why.

Sai Kung has a lot of people who live in UK, and they usually have chinese restaurants or takeaways over there, and the food served here is rather similar to that.

The curry here is very good, the Oversea's chinese takeaway style, same with most of the other dishes.
The salted chicken feet are also very good, not sure what the sauce was, but the texture is like sand and oil mixed together!!!

Mooncakes @ 港島香格里拉酒店大堂酒廊 Lobby Lounge

I only tried this because it is from Shangri La, same as all the other Lotus ones, the lotus paste is very dense, after swallowing a high percentage of it, still had the paste stuck to my upper palate!

To me, it just tastes like any ordinary lotus mooncake, however the lotus paste was overly dry!

Massive scallops!! @ 優質堂國際有限公司 A Style International Ltd.

A Style had a stall at the food fair in Diamond featuring their usual range of frozen seafood ready to eat once thawed, including their big spider like crabs and shellfish.

For their cooked snacks they had ready to eat big scallops for $20, a choice of buttered or Teriyaki.

I got the Teriyaki, and the scallops were quite big, the orange part was the best, usually they taste rubbery, but this one tasted velvety just like pate and fish roe.
In terms of scallop anatomy, the orange part is the ovary-testis according to the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department .
