An eggy Lunch and afternoon tea at Kasa

I have always wanted to dine here because I kept seeing photos of the Chinese scotch egg and molten cake.

Finally went late in the afternoon to avoid the lunch crowd around 2:30pm and I was so glad because I made it for lunch and after I finished the food, the afternoon tea session started so I ordered that as well since I was there.

Soup:

The soup came with the lunch and faired average compared to the other wonderful items I had.

Chinese preserved vegetables, minced pork, soft boiled egg:

This was the Chinese scotch egg I came for.
The outer pork crust was made with minced pork and Chinese preserved vegetables (mui choi).
It was quite tasty but you couldn't taste the preserved vegetables so it just tasted like a normal scotch egg with a delicious runny yolk.

Minced beef, fresh tomato puree, double fried potatoes and onsen egg:

It was good that the rice came separately.
I think this dish is trying to mimick minced beef with egg (woh daan ngau yuk) but I loved it because the tomato sauce was really tart and it was basically canned tomatoes.
On the side, there were cubes of crispy potatoes which were really yummy and the beef was lean.
The onsen egg just made the whole thing silkier but unfortunately, thats too much egg in one meal if you chose the scotch egg as starter but how can you not choose it!!

Kasa style molten duck yolk custard cake:

This was not part of any set so I ordered it separately.
It was just divine because the cake crust is crunchy on the outside but soft and cakey in the middle filled with delicious runny egg custard.
When they serve it, they will slice it in the middle so the custard flows out.

Hot soy milk :

The soy milk was part of the tea set but unfortunately it tasted disgusting because it tasted rancid.
I can't understand why there was that taste because hot soy milk is not supposed to taste like that.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Grilled salmon congee:

The salmon congee was part of the tea set and it was just different because you don't normally get salmon with congee.
As well as congee, they had these other tea set choices which I wanted but sadly I only have one stomach.
