Charcoal toast at Saiyu Japanese Restaurant

Went here because no one was dining there but it makes sense because the food takes ages to come.
Ordered the cheese and ham toasties which comes with a side of weird salad because it is dressed in sweet sesame sauce.

burnt toast:

It was so uniformly black on the burnt edges that it had a lovely bitter taste.
This is probably the prized activated charcoal that health shops are trying to sell!!
The ham was a too salty as well.
